Ron Omann is the state energy coordinator for USDA Rural Development in Minnesota, which involves administering a number of different energy-related programs. He has worked with Rural Development since 2003 during which he has also served as an environmental specialist and technical advisor to the USDA’s National Office Energy Division. Ron works out of the State Office in St. Paul.
Since the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act in 2022, USDA Rural Development has invested over $1 billion grants for energy-related projects nationwide for nearly 7,000 farmers and small business. In addition to energy financing, the Agency achieve its mission by helping rural individuals, communities and businesses obtain the financial and technical assistance needed to address their diverse and unique needs.
Ron graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN with a B.A. in political science and environmental studies. He currently lives on a small farm in Afton with his family.
